What are the basics?

A creator is a person or team or company behind the creation and distribution of any media, especially digital media, usually targeted to a specific end-user or audience in specific contexts. Content creator can be interchangeably referred to as influencer when they have a strong audience following who enjoys their creation and values their opinion.

Digital content can comprise of written content, graphic design, photography, audio, games, and video production that is used on social media, in the blogosphere, and anywhere else online.

Subscription is a month-on-month payment by fans or subscribers, who want to encourage the creators to create what they love. Creators can make a living and the monthly income can be considered to be ‘salary’ that provides financial stability.

A project is finite work with clear goal, that the creator would like to bring to life.The funding goalis the amount of money that is required to complete the project. It must be explained to the backers why that money is required and must be ensured that it will be getting used for the said purpose.

Rewards are the perks or benefits that the creators provide to both the subscribers and project backers. The creators would like to create a long-term rapport with the monthly subscribers and the rewards plays an important role to acknowledge their love and contribution. It should be innovative, unique and an extension of the creator’s personality or the content they are creating. For the project backers the creators can generally share a piece of their project or provide one-of-a-kind experience.

Rewards for multiple tiers of subscription and funding should be distinct and logical.

Postscomprise of comments, photos or videos that can be uploaded on the profile page or on feeds. Creator’s post can be public or for subscribers or selective project groups.

Feedsare collection of posts in a public forum, typically shared with members of subscription or funding groups.
